The conversation touched upon the role of materials in luxury furniture and the need for sustainable and responsibly sourced materials. The use of wood, bamboo, mycelium, and other innovative materials was also discussed, along with the challenges of ensuring fire resistance and sustainable end-of-life options.

The experts acknowledged the growing market for high-end furniture, particularly in the post-COVID era, where people have come to appreciate the value of their homes and are willing to invest more in them. They discussed the concept of affordable luxury and how it’s a subjective term based on individual disposable income and personal identity. The discussion concluded with a reflection on the future of the high-end furniture market, where the integration of technology, sustainable practices, and a focus on health and wellbeing are expected to be key trends.
